On 5 May 2011, the software tool Ultrasound anatomical viewer for regional anaesthesia was presented at the Palacio de Congresos of the Community of Madrid, at the 30th National and 14th Spanish-Portuguese Congress of the Spanish Society of Anaesthesiology, Resuscitation and Pain Therapy, within the Symposium organised by Abbott Laboratories.
The Deputy Director of the University Institute of Education Sciences (IUCE), Juan Antonio Juanes Méndez, lecturer in the Human Anatomy Area of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Salamanca and principal investigator of the Research Group on Advanced Medical Visualisation Systems (“VisualMed System”), took part, together with other renowned professionals, in the software development of the tool, whose computing work was carried out with the collaboration of “Desarrollos informáticos Abadía”, of Madrid.
